Name/Alias:

Which ever you prefer. I actually do go by Lumi most of the time though.
BiC::
Full Name::
Lumi Reva Garland
Age//Year::
Eleven // Hopefully entering Year One
House::
Of choice? Gryffindor.
Affiliation::
None // Neutral
Parents::
Both were Muggle born and they had no knowledge of the magic world. They were killed in a car wreak two weeks before Lumi was to leave off for school. Yes the car wreak was accidental. Lumi prefers not to talk about them.
[If more information is needed it will be provided.]
Blood::
Lumi is apparently the first witch in her family. There have been traces of the blood in her lines but she was the only one that it came out strong enough in.
History::
Lumi is your normal not-teen girl. Her world was filled with the boring routine of school and an occasional babysitting job. There was nothing specatular about her birth. Nothing incredibly crazy about her childhood. She seemed to be 'normal' as far as everyone could tell. For the most part she carried around a large bear named Ian and seemed to be muttering to the air. Her parents assumed that she had made the bear her imaginary friend, but there is more information on that to come. She has no other siblings, and her only nearby family were her parents. The rest of her family is believed to be somewhere in Asia. She turned eleven on the sixth of december was soon suprised to recieve a very odd letter. Not knowing what was going on she showed the letter to her parents, who revealed that it was not normal for your stuffed animals to talk back to you. The realized that something wierd was going on one late night when they heard strange vioces coming from Lumi's bedroom. After all, how many children's imaginary friends use real voices to talk back. But it seemed as she grew up, she had supressed her magic. For what reason no one knows. Perhaps it seemed to be the natural thing to do. She was excited as christmas about going off to this strange school, which her parents agreed upon after long days of consideration. It would leave them alone with the staff in the mansion, perhaps it would be nice to spend some time with just each other. But about two weeks before leaving, her parents were struck dead in a tragic car accident. It appears that the car had a flat tire that no one noticed. The tire wedged itself in a pothole and tilted the car the wrong way down a hill, flinging Mr and Mrs Garland to their deaths below. Lumi was distraught and she went to live with her neighbor until she left for school. School was about the only thing that kept the poor childs spirts up. She so looked forward to it. True, her relationship with her parents had not been the best. In fact, she was better friends with the butler Josiah than with her parents. But they were always there for her when she needed them. Now little Lumi seemed rather lost and confused. Her neighbor wondered if it was a boarding school, if not then there would be no where for Miss Lumi to stay in the summer. It might be the best for her as well. New experiences and friends had calming and healing powers over a young childs mind. Sure her staff at her house could take care of her, but what kind of life is that...
Appearance::
Lumi has black shoulder length hair that seems to do what it wants to most of the time. Some days it is curly and others it is straight. Oddly enough it is never frizzy. Perhaps that was the only good thing about its 'enchanted' state.
She has pale skin and seems cursed to remain pale most of her life. Not because she doesn't play outside or anything, that is just her skin temperment. She has never been able to tan, the one time she seriously tried she looked like a cherry for about a week.
An odd combination with her hair, Lumi has hazel eyes. her eyes seem to be the only odd or off thing about her. No her eyes don't change with the weather or anything like that. But more so to her moods. Usually there is a goldish gleam in them, but lo. If the green appears whoever is responsible should probably start running.
She stands at a little over five feet. Sadly she will only grown to be a grand 5'6".
Her body is lithe and slender, she could be called refined. A result from being pampered most of her life of course. But her friends know that Lumi is the first one to hitch up her dress and get dirty.
While she is comfotable in fancy dresses and such, she holds nothing back about jumping into some jeans and an old t shirt. Lets just say that her parents did not appove of those sorts of clothing so she is having her fun now.
Personality::
At first she may appear to be shy, but once you get to know her she is a real fireball. She carries all the proper qualities that someone should have. She is loyal to her friends and would fight to the end for them. She tend to have a bit of a memory problem with people's names. So it isn't uncommon for her to be talking to someone and randomly shout out their name in the middle of the conversation. It turns out that she is a bit of a troublemaker, not as much as Fred or George, but she does like to have her fun.
She doesn't make friends that easily, you have to prove that she can trust you first. Nor can she be bought with candies or money. To by Lumi's friend you must prove yourself. No that does not mean you have to save her life or something. Although she would like a Prince Charming to come along... Anyways. If you are good to her she will gladly return the favor.
She is not easily angered. The only way to tap into her temper would be to insult her or a friend. Or say anything about her parents. You would probably find yourself in the eternal land of the shunned if you messed up on the last one.
Extras?::
Lumi has no sence of direction. None what/so/ever! She is all the time getting lost and rescued by ghosts and her housemates. Yes, without the help she will eventually get where she wanted to go. By the way of some secret passages and the such. But it is not uncommon for her to be walking up a staricase and find herself in the entrance hall moments later.
She does not have any of her school things at the moment, must get on that. Nor does she really know what the school is about. The most magic she has ever done was when she watched Mary Poppins.
[Once she learns about it]
She would like to be a chaser for her team. Maybe if she could get up the courage to try out. After being introduced to flying she just can't get enough of it.
Roleplay Sample::
Footsteps echoed down the long halls, it seemed that once again she was alone. Warm hazel eyes searched the corridors, but it was hopeless. She was lost. Again. A girl froze at the bottom of a staircase and gasped as her foot started to sink into a stair.
"Dratted staircase. And now I'm lost again."
A smooth voice complained. It really was sad, who knew that sixth years could still get lost. But the most amazing thing was that she was not related to Neville at all. But her parents were, muggles. The word gave the girl a shiver of distaste. After a moment of sitting on the floor and feeling sorry for herself, she managed to get back to her feet. She followed the way she came and somehow managed to end up in the Entrance Hall, which was nowhere near where she was trying to go.
"Are you lost again Lumi?"
The voice, seemingly out of nowhere, had come from a nearby ghost who was well used to having to help the girl around.
The girl, now recognized as Lumi indeed, turned a slight shade of pink.
"Yes."
She muttered as she tried to straighten her robes. One hand flew up to her hair but oddly enough it was fine. Her hair seemed to have a life of its own but today it was, behaving. Or so it seemed. The shoulder long black locks had twisted into loose curls this morning and nothing she did would lossen them. After trying all sorts of hex's on her own hair she had finally given it. It wasn't a bad look after all. Her hair was not the only thing with a life of its own today. Her robe kept inscribing her name across the back. Every now and then you would see 'Miss Lumi Reva Garland' in bright scarlett letters. Of course everyone thought that the little mud... Oh that darned word. Well everyone thought that she was trying to draw attention to herself.
The ghost gave a chuckle, as now happened to be one of those letter flashing moments.
"The Gryffindor common room is this way Miss Lumi."
He kindly offered her his arm which she made a good show in taking. It seemed that although she did not have many friends here, the ghosts did well enough in keeping her company. As she arrived safely in front of the fat lady she gave the ghost a friendly good bye wave. She paused in front of a window, watching a nice game of quidditch.
Lumi did own her own broom but she had never been brave enough to try out. A chaser seemed the ideal role for her, if she was to play that is. Loud voices from outside in the hall jerked her from her little dream world. She wandered out into the halls and toward the noise. She wasn't suprised to see that, /what was his name again?/, was in the middle of it. It was a sad day when she didn't know her own classmates names. Rather than barge in, she casually leaned against a wall. She would judge the situation from here.
