OoC::
Name/Alias: Kelsey or Kels
BiC::
Full Name:: Andromeda Corina Anne Finch-Fletchey
Age//Year:: 12, Second Year
House:: Ravenclaw
Affiliation:: Nuetral by family association, but Andie is against Voldemort, herself.
Parents:: Padma Patil and Justin Finch-Fletchley
Blood:: Pure
History:: Andie is one of five ‘twins’…obviously quintuplets. Duh. She never got special treatment, none of them did. Except for perhaps her eldest sister…her parents seem very proud of the eldest Finch-Fletchley. She and her other siblings (spare the eldest) were born on October the 27th; a cold, rather dreary night of rain and a black tapestry of sky. At 11:00 pm on the dot, Andromeda Corina Anne Finch-Fletchley was born. Andie was the third quintuplet born, and it was odd, somehow not right. Most babies cry at birth, but it took much longer for her to shed her first tears. It was only after she was taken from her father’s arms that she set to wailing like any normal infant would do.
She grew up as the daughter of an auror (Justin Finch-Fletchley), a damn good one too. Taught to always be strong in your faith, to take risks, because they’ll be worth it in the end. To live for the moment, because it may be your last. The Finch-Fletchleys never had much money, what with all six children, being aurors, being in hiding…they were never well off, maybe because of all their children, nor had any hope of ever living like they wished. So when Andie and her siblings were accepted to Hogwarts, their parents were ecstatic.
When she was younger, not able to pin-point the exact day, her aunt and cousins had moved in with her family. It hadn't been fun...she hadn't really expected it to be. Not that she hated her extended family, but they just didn't get along, like with her immediate family. Her cousins were close with her other siblings, and they weren't as annoying as her brothers and sisters, but...it wasn't her cup of tea. I mean, she had to share a room with five other girls...the whole house was cramped, and her aunt treated her just like her mother. On the whole, she considered Hogwarts her real home, and her house was just a prison for the summer.
Andie has never been close with her family. Her father is the only one she talks to in depth (and it is rare). She doesn't see eye-to-eye with her siblings or mother in the least. Perhaps you would go so far as to call her a 'black sheep' of sorts. Her mother wants her to be a 'perfect young lady' and Andie's sister follow that lead. But Andie doesn't want to be like everyone else...so she chooses her own path.
Appearance:: Andie (you don't call her Andromeda or you get hexed, darlings), funnily enough, looks hardly anything like her parents. Her face is shaped differently, her skin is rather pale, unlike her mother, and everything just seems odd, as though she shouldn't be their child. Ah well, what can she do?
Andie's pale, diamond-shaped face is usually alight with a smile. Her hair is very dark (the only thing that makes her look like her mother, and even less like her father), but it isn't black. It almost seems as though it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be black or brown in any sense. She has it chopped off artfully at her slender shoulders and it's usually pulled back out of her face, small wisps coming out of their ties. Her hair is also divided into thin bangs fall in her eyes.
Her eyes? Ah yes. Let me explain. Picture the sky...the sea...a lake, a tear, a diamond. All rolled into one. They are really the only stunning part about Andie on the whole. Their deep, aqua...maybe green...maybe blue...who could tell...color is constantly sparkling and enhanced by flecks of other colors.
Andie isn't exactly tall, but neither is she short. Just right for Quidditch actually. She happens to be a Chaser for Ravenclaw's team, her strong, average-sized build being perfect for such a position (if that is okay).
Personality:: The young Finch-Fletchley girl isn't fond of her name. At all. It is long and over-bearing. She swears it is as long as all her siblings' names combined. So you call her Andie...or unpleasant things happen to you that seem to be unexplainable...
Andie is usually quiet and solemn, taking a liking to behind-the-scenes action. Her grades are exceptional, her mannerism nothing to be worried about. So who would expect her to be a trouble-maker? That's just what she is, only in disguise. The past year, her first year at Hogwarts, she aquired a knack for pranks and practical jokes...though this year she plans to channel that for the better. See, her parents help out the Order in any way possible. She is proud. She wants to help. And this is the year she is planning to make it known just what she is capable of. Though how will they know she is resisting? They may, they may not...only time will tell. Andie is determined to stay out of trouble, maintain her image of a perfect school-girl...but only as a cover. Little would you know that a red-headed temper lies underneath her dark hair and solemn, near-expressionless face.
While her other brothers and sisters seem to be more out-going and loud, Andie is withdrawn, the strong, silent-type if that applies to the female gender. Maybe that's why they don't get along...you think? She doesn't have many friends...more like acquaintances really. But Andie also has her enemies, most in Slytherin. She is determined to make this year different, to try and be more friendly and out-going. It can help her get information if she has friends in the right places. Her father and mother would probably tell her it wasn't a twelve-year old girl's place to do so...but they don't know, and she isn't telling.
Extras?::
Pet// Andie has a large, jet-black barn owl that she dubbed Pheanix. It is the right spelling...for his name. Andie thought, when she received him as a birthday gift, that his amber eyes mirrored a Pheonix's to the exact pupil.
Wand// Eleven and a quarter inches of Birchwood with a hair from the tail of a unicorn, pleasantly springy, good for many forms of spells, hexes, curses, and the like.
Knowledge// She knew more spells, hexes, curses, and jinxes when she arrived at school than many older students did. Mainly because of her unquenchable desire for knowledge that led her to read her father's books at home.
Roleplay Sample::
OoC; I’m just going to put in part of her intro as my sample. xD
BiC;
Two mesmerizing blue-green eyes pored over the pages of a worn book titled, ‘Hexes for the Hexed, Not to Mention a Variety of Jinxes and Curses for Your Enjoyment.’ Yes, it was probably banned, but the girl who was holding it made sure no one could see the title, so who would know? The girl was Andromeda Corina Anne Finch-Fletchley. A mouthful? Um, yes. So, since she hated the name, you called her Andie…or somehow…some way…you were hexed…a prank was pulled on you…strange, don’t you think? Andie brushed her fly-away wisps of dark hair from her eyes and looked up to listen to what her siblings were discussing. They were in the compartment with her. Oh joy. She had hoped to find a private compartment, but luck didn’t seem to fancy giving her one. So here she sat, her nice, quiet reading interrupted by shrill giggles and gossip. Bloody hell…why her?
“Get your nose out of that blasted book already…” came one of Andie’s sister’s voices. It was sharp and cold, as though accusing the girl of something.
“No.” was all Andie said before returning to her book, “Why would I want to sit here and listen to you lot gossip about nothing when I could be getting educated like a true Ravenclaw?”
Her sisters merely snorted and went back to talking. That was how Andie liked it, behind-the-scenes…ignored, if you will. No one quite understood why Andie was so different from her family. No one understood why she was not close with anyone, spare her father. But Andie knew; everyone expected her to be someone she wasn’t. They wanted to change her, mold her to be like they wanted. And that isn’t what /Andie/ wanted…she wanted to be different, set apart. Her father was the only one who /really/ seemed to accept her for who she was.
The train finally chugged to a stop, emitting steam from it’s stack as the students departed, lugging their trunks and chattering excitedly. Andie remained alone in the compartment, shoving her book into her trunk. She finally picked up Pheanix’s cage and looked down at the black owl with a grin, “We’re home, Phea.” Andie said lovingly, pulling her trunk from the compartment and off the train. Her bright eyes shone with excitement to see the enormous castle of Hogwarts before her, the only place she felt that she belonged. It was nice to be back.
OoC; Thanks for looking at my application. I will be gone, to let you know...from June 16 until June 23 at camp. I didn't want to post on the board for being gone as I am not a member yet. Thanks!
